Chapter 184 – The First Visitor on a Rainy Night
“Mephala, nothing else has happened to the Elizabeth Tower for so many days, and Kallen is homesick too,” Yuffie said to Mephala, who was sitting opposite her.
On the second floor of a cafe not far from Big Ben, Yuffie beamed as she watched Kallen, who was sitting beside her, ‘attack’ a cream cake.
They had been in contact for a good two months. Yuffie, who barely managed to retain her status as the homeowner, was trying to be on good terms with the woman who was highly respected within the circle of Extraordinaires in England. On the other hand, Mephala also wanted to remain in the good books of Kallen’s older sister. As such, both Yuffie and Mephala inevitably became close friends.
The other spaces on the second floor of the cafe were naturally filled with the Lamperouge family’s bodyguards, as well as personnel from the Homeground Search and Investigations Agency, who dressed much more casually than the bodyguards who wore formal suits.
The bodyguards looked tensely and anxiously at the young personnel, for they knew that those people were the legendary Extraordinaries.
However, although the young personnel were also enjoying afternoon tea, they would also glance anxiously at the cute loli Kallen, who was less than ten years old. It was precisely because they were Extraordinaires that they could sense the terrifying power of Kallen.
Mephala nodded and said, “The Victoria Intelligence Agency and the British government are grateful to Kallen for her assistance. Our initial agreement with the Lamperouge family ends today anyway, so we will definitely not control where she goes from hereon.”
“The fact that the Heavenly Palace managed to activate the Reiki Vein without us finding any trace at all is really…” Mephala said with a sigh.
Yuffie smiled and replied, “It’s precisely because it’s the Heavenly Palace.”
Mephala smiled bitterly and said, “Also, if you or the young Kallen wish to travel somewhere far away, please do inform me. We will arrange the best travel plans and security personnel for you.”
Mephala looked extremely earnestly at Yuffie and continued, “We are not trying to keep an eye on you; even we may not be sufficiently qualified to protect the young Kallen. However, Yuffie, you are Miss Kallen’s closest relative, so the British government is willing to spare no effort in protecting you, in accordance with the standards set out by our leaders.”
“Whether England can rise again in this era of Extraordinary Awakening, or at the least, not be left behind in this era of progress, lies in the hands of important talents like the young Kallen. We hope that Kallen can grow and develop healthily, and during which, your existence and help are essential, Yuffie.”
Yuffie touched her sister Kallen’s head and smiled gently, saying, “Don’t worry, I will not put myself nor my sister in danger.”
“In that case, Kallen and I will be returning home now.”
Kallen gulped down the entire cup of milk and said happily, “I can finally go home! I want a hug from Uncle Walter.”
“After staying in a hotel in London throughout this period, we miss home,” Yuffie said with a laugh.
Mephala replied, “I’m sorry to have wasted your time. It seems like there would not be any other situations arising at the Big Ben after the activation of the Reiki Vein–”
Boom–
Yuffie, Mephala, and Kallen all looked in the direction of Big Ben at the same time.
Apart from Kallen who had a tinge of bewilderment on her face, Yuffie and Mephala did not feel anything.
They only observed that following a loud crack of thunder, the sky which had been clear just moments ago turned dark and began pouring heavily.

“Why are you drenched…? Is this some special cosplay outfit?”
Ren Suo shot a strange look at Gu Yueyan who was standing outside the door. She was wearing a short-sleeved summer dress and did not have her school bag with her. Her clothes were soaked and water was dripping from the ends of her hair. A strange blush emerged on her pretty face.
Unexpectedly, Gu Yueyan tried to peer into his house, but Ren Suo subconsciously moved to block her view. There was no reason for that—he had already hidden it in a secure place, but protecting his private space was a natural reaction. Only perverts would not hesitate to leave their zipper down.
However, Ren Suo’s reaction seemed to confirm Gu Yueyan’s thoughts. Her eyes glowed as she exclaimed, “I was right… She did come looking for you!”
Ren Suo asked, “What came looking for me? Ah, I forgot about the spicy dried anchovies for Black Bell’s supper…”
Ren Suo’s poor way of changing the topic was obviously ineffective. Gu Yueyan tried to push Ren Suo’s hand away as she demanded, “Let me in!”
“Why would I!” Ren Suo exclaimed. He said, “Just take a look at yourself now!”
“What?” Gu Yueyan remarked.
Gu Yueyan looked down at herself, then panicked and backed away as she covered her chest. She shrieked, “You… You refined scum with absolutely no morals, you’re just a savage animal disguised in human form that is wearing clothes! You’re worse than an animal–”
So, am I an animal or not an animal?
Ren Suo waved his hand and said, “Alright, alright, I know you have excellent language ability, but you must have realized that the school uniform is of good quality. It is only slightly translucent, you did not expose anything…”
“See, you scrutinized me indeed!” Gu Yueyan berated as she gritted her teeth and looked at Ren Suo.
Ren Suo changed the subject again. He asked, “Shouldn’t you be asking yourself why you walked around in the rain without bringing an umbrella?”
Gu Yueyan replied, “After I finished my exam, I waited for you for an hour on the third floor of the dining hall but you did not appear, so I came to look for you. Who would have expected that it suddenly started raining when I was just about to reach the building!”
“Wait, but how did you come in when you are not a teacher?” questioned Ren Suo, suddenly discovering a loophole.
Gu Yueyan blinked and said, “I stood downstairs outside the dormitory building for less than a minute, then a black cat lying in front of the door jumped up to the walkie-talkie and pressed a room number. The door downstairs opened, so I entered with the cat…”
No more spicy fried anchovies for Black Bell! No more milk for it! Time to tear the photo of the ragdoll cat away!
Ren Suo pulled the corners of his mouth. He suddenly thought of a plan and began scrutinizing Gu Yueyan from head to toe with a “you know what I am saying” look. It was only when Gu Yueyan was standing at the stairwell when he said, “With your current state, it would be better to talk about whatever you want to say tomorrow. You should hurry back to your dorm to change out of your drenched clothes before you catch a cold.”
Unexpectedly, Gu Yueyan’s response was extremely fierce. She questioned, “Tomorrow? Why must I wait until tomorrow! Are you already intending to ‘cook the rice’ tonight?”
“I don’t have rice in my house!” Ren Suo rebuked. He said harshly, “I’ll lend you an umbrella, now go back quickly.”
“No, let me take a look inside your house first!” Gu Yue said firmly.
“Why would I let you do that!” Ren Suo exclaimed.
Ren Suo pointed to the camera at the stairwell and said, “If you enter my house in your current state, then I would never be able to clear my name should you twist the truth! Even if you claim that I am a pedophile or some other kind of pervert, I may be acquitted, but I will die in the hands of society!”
Ren Suo was a man who could protect himself well. That night when Gu Yueyan followed him to have a conversation with him, he deliberately stood in an area where there was a camera and which was brightly lit. In that way, he could talk to her without worry and with nothing to hide, ensuring there was evidence of his innocence.
Incidentally, the reason why Ren Suo developed such a habit was largely due to his mother. As his father was a teacher, his mother would occasionally share news articles about ‘a middle-aged man becoming a victim of a badger game’, ‘a dispute between a middle-aged teacher and his female student’, ‘the tragic encounter of a middle-aged man’ and the like.
While Ren Suo’s father remained loyal as ever to his mother through the decades, as a son, Ren Suo also developed a cautious and vigilant personality. He would never interact alone with strangers belonging to such a group of highly dangerous criminals known as beautiful girls.
Indeed, being alone with an unfamiliar beautiful young girl would make him run the risk of being a criminal suspect, and was extremely dangerous.
However, Ren Suo’s words seemed to fuel Gu Yueyan’s anger. She suddenly opened her arms, which had been covering her chest, and dashed right into Ren Suo’s house with extreme confidence. She had activated [Clothes] and Ren Suo was unable to defend against that to stop her in time!
“Teacher!” Gu Yueyan shouted.
“You better not get yourself into real trouble!” Ren Suo. exclaimed.
Ren Suo did not close the door as he looked helplessly at Gu Yueyan who was shouting as she rummaged through his kitchen and living room. He shook his head helplessly and questioned, “I am living here alone, who are you looking for?”
Gu Yueyan said, “Teacher Dong has come back to Lianjiang, but she did not pick up my calls. She must have come looking for you!”
Ren Suo was baffled. He replied, “Dong Chengling is back? Well, although that makes me happy… but… she is really not here.”
“Really?” Gu Yueyan asked.
Gu Yueyan looked at Ren Suo’s bedroom, then turned to look at the guest room beside it.
Ren Suo was alarmed. He shouted, “Don’t open the door!”
Gu Yueyan’s eyes narrowed. Decisively, she twisted the doorknob.
As soon as she opened the door, a strange scent drifted into her nostrils. She questioned, “What is this smell? Romantic perfume?”
The room was completely dark, but Gu Yueyan’s heart also fell into the depths of the darkness. She said, “Could the person I have always aspired to be also end up…”
“Teacher, I …” Gu Yueyan continued softly as she fumbled with the light switch in the room.
She flicked the lights on.
The next second–
“Ah ah ah ah ah—–“
